Mr Thomas is a consultant colorectal surgeon at St Mark’s Hospital, London. He qualified from Imperial College School of Medicine and undertook his post-graduate training in London and Surrey. He was awarded a MD research degree from Imperial College for research into the management of faecal incontinence and constipation. He undertook a post training fellowship at the renowned specialist bowel hospital St Mark’s Hospital. He was previously a consultant surgeon at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital in Surrey, prior to his appointment to St Mark’s Hospital.

He has significant expertise in the management of faecal incontinence and rectal prolapse. Specific treatments include sacral nerve stimulation, tibial nerve stimulation and rectopexy. He has published widely on this subject and has presented at many national and international scientific meetings.
