Mr Jamie Crinnion Consultant Profile
Mr James Crinnion qualified from Leeds University Medical School in 1987 and trained in Leeds, Sheffield and London. In 1998 he was awarded an MD thesis for vascular surgical research.
He has been a Consultant General and Vascular surgeon for 18 years. His NHS base is at the Royal London and Whipps Cross University Hospitals.
He has a large NHS practice specialising in general, vascular and endocrine surgery. He has particular expertise in minimal access treatment of varicose veins, laparoscopic and open hernia surgery, treatment of gallstones, thyroid and parathyroid surgery and all arterial surgery.
He also has a particular interest in surgical education and training and has been Chairman of the Court of Examiners of the Royal College of Surgeons (2010 – 2012), Invited member of the Council of the Royal College of Surgeons and Chairman of the North-East and North-Central Thames training committee for general surgery (2011 – present).
He has also been the trust clinical governance lead (2003 – 2009) and Clinical Director for General Surgery at Bartshealth (2012 – 2016). He has published extensively with many original articles and book chapters.
