Dr Arun Bhaskar Consultant Profile
Dr. Bhaskar is a distinguished consultant in pain medicine with an extensive background in cancer and neuropathic pain. A graduate of the University of Kerala, India, he completed his specialist training at the Northwest Deanery in the UK. He began his consultant career at The Christie in Manchester, where he established the hospital’s Pain Service.With a strong focus on clinical research, Dr. Bhaskar has contributed to numerous trials in cancer-related and chemotherapy-induced neuropathic pain. His work includes pioneering interventional techniques for managing intractable cancer pain.Dr. Bhaskar is actively involved in teaching and examination, serving on the faculty for several courses, including the European Pain School. He is an examiner for the European Diploma in Pain Medicine and the World Institute of Pain’s FIPP exam. Additionally, he has held influential roles, such as past chair of the Northwest Pain Clinicians and a member of the scientific committee for the European Pain Federation (EFIC) 2017.
