Prolotherapy consultation at The London Clinic
Amongst the conditions which benefit from prolotherapy treatments are stretched, sprained or lax ligaments.
A mixture of dextrose with a local anaesthetic is injected into each end of the affected ligament, close to its attachment to the bone.
This eventually stimulates the body to make new fibres, which are laid down within the substance of ligaments.
This has the effect of thickening and strengthening them.
Patients are able to return to work immediately, as there is no need to rest after the injection(s).
