Chris Hammond is Frost Professor of Ophthalmology at King’s College London, and a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at St Thomas’ Hospital in London.

He trained at Moorfields Eye Hospital (Paediatric OPhthalmology and Strabismus Fellowship), St Thomas’ Hospital (Senior Registrar), the Western Eye Hospital (Registrar), and Addenbrooke’s Hospital Cambridge (Senior House Officer).

He is an internationally recognised researcher into the genetics of common eye diseases including myopia, cataract, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration.

His research group is based in the Department of Twin Research and Genetic Epidemiology.
