Mr Ragheed Al-Mufti Consultant Profile
Mr Al-Mufti interests are in all aspects of breast surgery, including benign breast lumps, breast augmentation (particularly for congenital anomalies and asymmetry), breast reduction mastopexy and therapeutic mammoplasty, and in management of gynaecomastia. He is also a specialist thyroid and parathyroid endocrine surgeon, particularly in dealing with retrosternal goitres.
He is an expert specialist surgeon in breast reconstruction with Latissmus Dorsi flaps (more than 350 LD flaps), and has worked on over 2000 breast reconstructions, including combinations with ADM.
Previously, he worked for NHS St Mary’s Hospital & Imperial College London Hospitals as a Senior Consultant Surgeon and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London Medical School, where he treated asymptomatic breast patients as well as National Screening patients and thyroid surgical conditions. Mr Al-Mufti graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 1984 with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degrees. He also has a Master’s from UCL which he completed in 1995, and a Doctorate in Medicine completed in 1996. He has many professional memberships including Member of BASO- Association of Cancer Surgery, Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, European Society of Surgical Oncology, Association of Breast Surgery and Member of the Scientific Committee of Europa Donna.
