Mr Raghbir Khakha Consultant Profile
Mr Khaka is a fellowship trained specialist trauma and orthopaedic knee surgeon. His surgical expertise revolves around all aspects of knee problems including trauma, sports injuries, arthritis and joint preservation surgery. He regularly work in partnership with Professor Adrian Wilson with whom he carried out his knee fellowship.
His NHS practice is based in central London teaching hospital Guy’s and St Thomas’. He has been in consultant practice since 2017 dealing with all elements of knee related injuries, including complex redo surgery for failed joint replacements.
His philosophy is based on joint preservation surgery, where he routinely perform ligament repairs and reconstructions, meniscal repairs and osteotomy surgery. He regularly accepts referrals from other orthopaedic centres to manage complex primary and redo knee reconstructive surgery.
Following successful completion of his fellowship in the US at Massachusetts General Hospital in trauma surgery and knee fellowship at North Hampshire Hospitals, he embarked on his consultant career at Guy’s and St Thomas’.
Prior to this, he trained on the prestigious South East London Training Rotation, for which he is now the lead for knee surgery teaching and involved with managing surgeons in training. He has a passion for education, training and research and regularly speak at international and national meetings on modern minimally invasive knee surgical techniques.
He completed his medical degree at St Georges University Hospital in 2006. He was awarded a BSc with honours at University College London in Orthopaedics and went to complete a Masters in the same field at the University of Brighton. He is an honorary senior lecturer at King’s College London and oversee surgical fellows looking to refine their skills in knee surgery.
