Miss Vivian A. Elwell completed her Neurosurgical training on the North Thames Neurosurgical London Rotation. She gained further specialist training in complex spinal surgery as a Central London Senior Spinal Fellow. In addition, she was awarded the British Association of Spinal Surgeons President Travelling Fellowship and the International Group for Advancement in Spinal Science Fellowship (IGASS).She actively contributed to education. She is an ATLS Instructor with The Royal College of Surgeon.

She is an Author of 8 medical textbooks including: The Essential Guide to the Oral and Clinical Neurosurgical Exam. Second Edition. CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group, USA ISBN:1032184051 (2023). In 2023, she was awarded and appointed as an External Examiner for Imperial College School of Medicine, London and Lee King Chian School of Medicine, Singapore.
