Dr Richard Groves Consultant Profile

I am a consultant dermatologist with a particular interest in complex medical dermatology. I run a tertiary clinical and diagnostic service for patients with immunologically mediated skin diseases based at the St. John’s Institute of Dermatology, Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospitals and Kings College London.

In addition to clinical work I have an active research programme investigating the causes of and new treatments for inflammatory skin diseases.

My undergraduate training was at Guy’s Hospital Medical School and I then trained in general medicine at the Royal London Hospital and then in dermatology back at Guy’s.

Following a research fellowship at Harvard University, I came back to the UK, initially to University College and then as Professor of Dermatology at Imperial College London. In 2005 I moved to my current post at the Institute of Dermatology.
