Prof Dae Kim Consultant Profile
Professor Dae Kim is a Consultant ENT and Thyroid Surgeon at The London Clinic.
He has a clinical interest in minimally-invasive ‘scarless’ Robotic and Endoscopic thyroid surgery. He completed a dedicated ‘Robotic and Endoscopic Thyroid Surgery Fellowship’ at the prestigious Severance Robotic Institute (Seoul) for transaxillary ‘scarless’ robotic thyroidectomy. Working closely with oncologists, thoracic surgery and vascular surgery colleagues, he is developing UK’s leading Neo-adjuvant Surgery Service for advanced thyroid cancer patients to achieve improved survival.
Professor Kim is an academic ‘surgeon-scientist’, and after research training at Harvard University and Birmingham University he was awarded a PhD doctorate and the prestigious ‘Syme Medal’ by the Royal College of Surgeons. He is Hon. Faculty at the Institute of Cancer Research, London, where he continues molecular and genomic research in advanced thyroid cancer.
